Dry dog noses are a common problem that can cause inflammation of the nasal passages. This can lead to a loss of smell, sneezing, coughing and even infections. Treatments include cleaning and moisturizing your pup’s nose, supplements such as natural oils and vitamin E, antibiotics if necessary, proper grooming techniques and nasal rinses with saline.

Zinc cream might be a good choice if its really dry. Dogs noses don't have to actually be 'wet'. If the dryness is such thats causing scaling or scabbing though, zinc cream is used for sun protection here in Australia and and sticks pretty well. Dogs don't seem as likely to lick it all off either.
