i have that epidsode of cops saved on my DVR. you can acutally see what is happening. real nice control on that dog...

How come the guy doesn't seem to care about walking around with a dog attached to his arm? Does the dog not bite hard enough to hurt or is the guy doped up on some kinda drug?

I was wondering the same thing, Mike. Seemed like a good dog, but not very effective for some reason?

I was wondering why what looks like 4 cops would need need to send a dog on 1 apparently unarmed homeless type that wasn't even running away, it looks like they were all out for a stroll and then tell him he was being detained for terrorist threats?

Maybe it was during sweeps weeks.

The subject in question is wearing a leather jacket which took some of the sting out of the bite more than likely. I do not know the circimstances but there is never enough backup as far as I am concerned. He is not cooperating obviously and has probably not been searched for weapons either. I love the critics, I really do.

Just for the record... I was sincere in my question... I see a dog hanging off a guy n I wonder why the guy isn't crying lol, I didn't doubt there was a reason for the apprehension, afterall, it's on TV they are obviously not gonna do anything on TV that isn't appropriate.

I didn't notice the leather jacket, thanks for pointing that out.

some of the "critics" do have a point, but in a different way. obviously it's a good apprehension. the guy was wanted for a felony, had evaded arrest and had a history of violence towards the cops. good bite. no question there. my problem is the three guys (including the handler) who stand around and watch the guy grab the dog while he's on the bite and obviously not very affected by the bite. on the second bite, finally a guy with some sense steps in and tackles the guy while the dog is on the bite. hooray for that guy! too often people believe that once the dog is on the bite, the fight is over. nothing except a shot to the dome with a gun is a guarantee to stop a bad guy and one should always have a back up plan for if and when your use of force isn't working (be it pepper spray, taser, dog, bean bag round, etc).

i saw an even worse example of this on another cops episode where the guy was actually hitting and kicking the dog while about 5 cops stood around and watched the show. finally someone with some balls stepped in and rushed the guy and the other idiots followed suit....
