I received this e-mail just now:

Hello Everyone.

I'm feeling well enough to type a short note. Thanks for the cards,
flowers and food.

Thanks to those providing a foster home to the puppies. Before the
accident, we had plans for the new runs to be completed. As soon as the
kennels are finished, we'll take them off your hands.

I have another surgery tomorrow. I should soon have an idea when I'll
be released. Look forward to training again.

I'm sorry, but who is Wayne Simanovich, and what happened?

This is so good to hear! I take it all of the puppies found foster homes, then?

Again with teh trying to make sure my husband divorces me....ugh! Althought he soooo could not get on me for having a 7 wk old working line GSD fluffball for him to play with LOL.
That's good news. Martin, Wayne is a very well known, well respected trainer. He has been in sch forever!

Another update for you guys, that I just received this morning:

Hello all,
I visited Wayne yesterday. He underwent his 4th surgery on Monday...skin grafting. He now has a huge wound on his thigh where the skin was taken from. So far everything looks good, but he's definately having alot of discomfort. The doctors are taking things day by day, but we're hoping to have him back home early next week.
He's looking forward to training...or at least watching some training. He asked me to thank everyone again for their prayers, cards, flowers...and BROWNIES!

I'll still be praying for him & his family.

I'm either too sleepy still, or just a dork, but what exactly did happen?
I keep invisioning a really bad dog attack
Oh no, Martin. It's much worse than anything a dog could have done - more like a lion or shark.

Here's the link to the original post, with the newspaper clipping that explained (somewhat) what happened:

Anyone heard any update on Wayne?
Not since June 1st, when he had his skin grafting done. Scroll up a bit to see that update.
Got this e-mail this morning:

Wayne had his skin graft surgeries. We are now waiting for the end
results. The doctors are still optimistic for a full recovery. The deep
wound is still a problem.

When we have a discharge date, I'll let you know. Wayne thanks all of
you for the cards, food, thoughts and prayers. We will train again soon.
Slow but steady
LAST update on Wayne

Got this e-mail FROM WAYNE today while I was at lunch!!!

Hello Everyone..

I’m alive. I’m home. With a little break we will start training again. I look forward to it. I’ll send out training times next week.

I want to thank all of you for the thoughts and prayers. Thanks for the cards and all the food. Thanks for checking in. Thanks to those of you that adopted a puppy. We started the construction process today for the new runs. It should not take long for completion.
