Hello, my name is Dick van Leeuwen. I am married to Selena (mod. on this forum) I`m a K9 instructor of the policeforce of the region of Flevoland (near Amsterdam).
I`m 48 years old and in dogsports since i was 13. At that age I went with my father to the schutzhund club where he was instructor and made sch.h I when I was 14 years old with a GSD male. I made schutzh. III with that dog at my fathers club and competed in several contests.
Because of my work with the policeforce, I got interested in K9 work and joined the KNPV. Since then I trained several type of dogs. Malinois, Bouvier, German Shepherd and of course the Dutch Shepherd. I made cert. with honours with all of them.
I contended at the Dutch championship KNPV (Den Bosch). PH-I and PH-II.
We are breeding the X Dutch Sheperd (Created our own bloodline). The reason why, you can read about that on our website.
I hope on this site to tell about the KNPV program, the dutch K9 and tell/talk about the Dutch Shepherd, because this kind of dog is not so well known as a K9/working dog in the world. (Which is changing rapidly.)

Welcome Dick, I'm always interested in discussions about police working dogs. On occasion even us Americans get one right. Good to have you here, can you do anything to control Selena??????

Dick you and your breeding/training program are the reason I joined the board, I was even hoping you could help me find the man in holland that bred my stud, his name is Van Hoof, unfortunately thats all I know right now.

I also have two pups out of them that are at a higher level than anything I've ever seen before.

To bad, but Tim is right about Spike.
