What tests are usually done when evaluating a dog for policework in US, or in holland/belgium/germany? Is there some kind of standard and education for this, or is it upp to each region to choose suitable test and persons to evaluate the potential dogs?
Here in Sweden the police/security/army-dogs must first pass a selectoniontest judged by a person educated for this, before they are allowed the training for their certification. It would be intressting to know if it works the same way in other countries too.
Found this video on such a test here in Sweden, it´s a GSD bitch that are aimed for securitywork and are tested by the police in such a test.

Here in Holland, the dog have usually their PH1 when purchased. The trainers on the departments choose the dog for the department and an extra test. The kinda dog the trainer thinks is suitable for policedog is choosen, so their could be difference in what kind of dog
