Please can someone identify this bug?

This was sitting on my wall by my front door tonight, I wish the side shot turned out better, it almost looks like its made of plastic, doesn't look fragile, the wings look solid, and from below looking at the side view, the 2 tails on the wings look like legs. I've never seen anything like it, does anyone know what it is????

That is a flying Candiru. Vandellia cirrhosa. Read this article, it will tell you what you should do about it. Be sure to scroll down...the picture you see of the wet thing in the guy's hand is just the Brazilian larvae (mistakenly called a "fish" there). It molts and they migrate up through Caribbean islands. Read the section on "Food" and the parasitic nature of the animal, important to know.

Funny, didn't know they'd made it to mainland US. You being serious, this was in your house in Florida?
How big is that? There's no reference for size in the picture.

Well, I'm saying adult Candiru and I'm saying keep your eyes on your pie-holes, bud.

One more reason not to move to Florida.
And why is it Woody that I call BS on your identification? Just read that page, I have heard of those things before, somehow I doubt that's whats attached to my house

Ssshhhh. Don't tell. I know we had at least Connie going for awhile.

I have no idea what that damn bug is. Step on it.

Yes, why is that you call BS on a fish being attached to your house??

But I still don't like 3.5-4" plastic bugs.
Tell me about your neighbors, Mike. Are they raising rare moths? Have you seen Silence of the Lambs? Has Lyka?

Again...so many reasons not to move to Florida.
In any case, much prettier than your previous shots of maggot-ridden dog feces.

That's true.

Even 4" plastic bugs are an improvement over that.
I guess it could be a Luna Moth, has the right shape and description but my luna moth looks a lot less fragile than the pic on that site.... poor suckers only have a 1 week lifespan :( lol he's wasting it on my wall.
