Met Woody today

Woody had a wedding here in St. Louis today and had time to drop by and watch our training club.
Super nice guy (don't let that go to your head Woody :D  )
Our TD/Helper had Woody stand right next to him and look over his shoulder while one of our dogs did a bark and hold. TD told Woody not to move. :D You were steady as a Rock Woody, except your eyes would open wide then blink every time Doc would bounce up and bark. :D
  I just realized I forgot to have Woody sign a visitors waiver, freeing the club from any liability just in case one of our dogs ate him.
Hope you enjoyed the up close and personel view. :D
We all enjoyed your visit and it was great to meet and put a face on a forum friend.
Hope my explinations helped you understand and enjoy our motivational style training.

Absolutely! You have a great bunch of folks on your club. I really appreciated the TD and everyone else breaking things down for me. Even on a miserable hot day in St Louis.

I would encourage anyone who hasn't visited Bob's club's site to do so...www.rwdc.org...they had a great variety of great dogs. And apparently lots of presa pups to play with every week! ;-). Thank goodness my wife wasn't there, those presa pups were pretty cute and she wouldn't have listened to me when I told her they don't grow into floppy couch dogs.

Yeah, I was wondering if you were gonna remember that waiver before or after Scott told me to start petting Doc after he was up on top of us. Great dog. And I am excited to see Thunder back in action next time I am down your way.

Thanks for your hospitality.

NO FAIR!!! :( I wanna see, too! I think you all should do some videos and put on your website. :D

Hope you had a good time, Woody (sounds like you did). Hubby was in the St. Louis area for four months a couple of summers ago and absolutely hated it (of course he was going through MP school, but hey)

It was awesome...I had camera with me but I didnt' want to be a doof snapping off pics and videos. But there were shepherds, a beautiful American Bulldog, a long haired shepherd, those "pocket rocket" 50 lb or so GSDs Bob has referenced in other threads (they are AWESOME to watch), an Amstaff...and those cute Presa pups, including the one Bob is training up. What a bunch of fun.

But I also learned a ton. You all know how helpful Bob is here--now imagine getting a play-by-play from Bob in real time on each and every dog and what it's doing and why it's doing it and what the owner was doing right and wrong. Really fascinating. He'd prep me for what I was about to see behaviorally and sure enough, there it was. It was nice to have the "breakdown" and be able to associate that with owner and dog interactions that then followed.

I think the most remarkable thing were that about half of the dogs we saw had backgrounds in serious compulsive training before their owners found Bob's club. Night and day difference between many of those and the ones who'd been motivational only or had been in the RWDC for awhile. Bob's club really is something special...you can see it in the dogs, and the club members are justifiably proud of what they're accomplishing.

Again, I can't think of many better ways to spend time learning about dogs.

Shudda took pics Woody. No one would have thought anything about that. How ya think we get all those shots for our web site!
Thanks for all the nice compliments!
Since I'm the official club ADHD BSer, talking and explaning things to guests comes real easy. By a second visit, you'd be chasing me away with a fly swatter.
Nice to read you guys had a good time........watch out when Seleen hits town

Selena, have you consider selling those into Walletjes? I bet they would bring top dollar.

Anyway, Bob and anyone else close to St Louis in the near future...go to the Zoo if you haven't done so recently! There was a baby orangutan there right next to the glass playing two inches from my son. It was just awesome. I cannot get over how great those orangs are. Fantastic.

Had a great visit to St Louis but it was with in-laws at a wedding so the dog training was the highlight of my week. Thanks for the save, Bob! I ended up spending the next 24 hours in a small hotel room with my very agitated kids. You provided a nice break!
