Hah. It's just amazing to me, the lack of statistical knowledge that drives this kind of stuff. Lots of lab bites...lots of labs...argh. Makes my head hurt.
Actually, this kind of thing might be good as anti-BSL fodder. Seriously. Kind of plays into the whole "slippery slope" thing about "tomorrow pit bulls...what next?"

SORRY I didn't read that far. Kind of made an ass out of myself, right.
This should make us think. It could be our breeds next. I don't think I did enough to help the pits. The pit owners wanted our help and we didn't do enough. It's not the breed it's the deed. Let's not let this happen to us.

I agree with Jerry about BSL, and I have to add that every single forum I read has been caught by that satire............ :lol: It's a good one, and look how it brings the point home.Jerry Lyda said:

Do what Tim M. and his colleagues did, marching in a silly parade and showing how well-behaved their service dogs (scary breeds in the minds of BSL-type folks) are. Involve your beautifully-trained dogs in every public event you can.
Show off your well-behaved GSDs and Mals and Dutchies and Pits.
If we don't do that, we're letting the bad owners have all the spotlight.
When our silly-looking troop of Pugs "marches" in the local 4th of July parade, the Pugs (with hats and banners) bring out the crowds, but the GSD outriders, walking calmly beside the crazy Pugs, are the ones the crowd stares at and is impressed with. Ambassadors all! 8)
