Today we mourn the loss of our friend and fellow board member, Chris.
Chris was a very kind and generous man, he always had a way to make you laugh or cheer you up when you've had a really bad day or needed advice. I looked forward to meeting him in person this upcoming week and regret that I will never have the chance. Chris was a warm-hearted and friendly person, and he will be missed greatly.

Please keep his family and friends close in your thoughts and prayers.

I know it doesn't seem "real" at all. I was flipping through my phone today, going to make a call to someone and was skimming my frequent calls list and saw Chris on there. I don't have the heart yet to delete the number either.

It's amazing how much you can feel for someone you've never met in person, but have spent a lot of time talking to on the phone or online. I remember calling him the day of his BH to ask him how it went and how excited he was that it all went well and how cheery he always sounded. I'm really going to miss that.
I don't come around much anymore, but wanted to extend my condolences to Chris' family, friends, and anyone who knew him. I 1st got to know Chris here on WDF and we discovered we had the bond of musicianship between us. It's always shocking when a person is taken at such a relatively young age. Chris you and your family are in my thoughts.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Michalek family.

Godspeed Chris.

Regards,

Mario Fernandez
It was fun "bantering" with Chris both on the forum and PM's.
I was looking forward to following his progress from BH to SchH III. I'll miss him.
WOW! My deepest condolences to Chris's family and friends.

Ditto. I remember conversatin' about our next dogs and going back and forth about his experiences with his Mali, his Rotties, half-joking/half-serious picking his brain about Malinois, his experiences, talking about dogs, BSing about dogs, music theory, recipes, ethnic/Asian food, possibly meeting up in Minnesota sometime, etc. I remember just reading about his BH and being happy for him. I didn't want my next message to/about him being a memorial.

Like so many things, now that it's gone, the loss of being able to PM him is much more acute. I'll miss him too.
I'm sorry to hear about this. I really enjoyed his posts. His family and friends are in my prayers.
My condolences to his family and friends...this is so sad..taken to young..
I'll miss you Chris.

I send my condolences to your wife and family.

RIP Chris, I will miss reading your posts :-(
Shocked, sad and so sorry to hear this. You will be deeply missed on this planet Chris! I enjoyed our PMs'and your posts. Prayers and thoughts to his wife and family.
Rest in peace Chris.

When you move to the other side of the lawn, suddenly is probably the best way to do it.
Did he have any kids? I dont remember him ever talking about any
No kids.
He had 3 Rottweilers, 1 malinois, & 2 pugs.
The rottweilers were a little to much for his wife to handle right now so I have them here with me.
Xico wont leave her side & she won't let him. He's helping her a lot right now.

We will be setting up an acct. at Wells Fargo today, If anybody would like to help with funeral expenses.

I will post the information when its done.
Thanks
I am sure that almost everyone else has seen and heard his youtube channel, but a fellow board member sent me this and someone else might want to listen:

R.I.P. Chris

We spent a lot of time togther in some of the local clubs..
We did not always agree but recently had spoken several times about dogs/training, shared some laughs & both realized that the dog world is a goofy place and just to enjoy the diversity and keep it fun..
Chris was planning to attend our helper seminar this weekend with Xico & K-Man and wanted to learn more about training & trial helper work.
Chris was a very passionate, talented & outspoken guy with a big heart and obviously touched many lives in his different endeavors and travels.. He passed way too soon.
Best wishes & prayers go out to his wife & family during this difficult time..

$ and sending flowers to the memorial in behalf of WDF/us if so.....?
