Hot Foot

1667 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  susan tuck
I am in Southern California where it is in the 100's for most of the summer. It's just too hot to walk Arkane on the blacktop except in the mornings & evenings. Someone suggested there is a creme mushers put on their dogs feet to toughen them up. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff or anyother product that will get the job done?
Thanks!

Alot of hunters around here use this or this for toughening up dog feet for running over rough terrain/brambles/thorns etc. I don't know how well it would protect against heat. I think booties might be the best way to go.
Thanks Becky, but I don't want to put boooties on him. If I can't find something I can just rub on his feet, I just won't walk him on the black top! This was a product made to toughen up the pads. Does anyone know what it is called?

Isn't Tuf-Foot (Becky's link) what you mean?

If not, this site has several items:

Oh yeah! I didn't know I was to click on the "this or this"! Thanks Becky, you may have solved my problems.
I just ordered the Mushers' Secret. I've heard it does a good job on hot pavement/asphalt.
