Hi there working dog lovers...
I'm new here, invited by Selena, and an introduction seems at place..
I'm Patrick de Vleeschauwer, born Belgian, living in the Netherlands, and maybe some of you ever heard of me (of my work more likely)
I have two mayor passions in life, first there is dogs -training and handling according to the KNPV rules- , and then there is photography, i shoot a huge variety of subjects, but working dogs is a mayor one.
Please don't let my girfriend hear she's on 3th place..lol

Last month i made Policedog1 with my Mali "Sammy", she now is with the Royal Dutch Air Force, and currently i have a 5 month old malinois (see photo)

more picture's and some video of the Policedog 1 trial at www.patrickdv.com

Hi Patrick, glad you could make it. They looove pictures overhere
Patrick,

Welcome! Do you routinely raise and KNPV-train dogs to be passed on to police service? Is there a program where citizens there participate in the foundation training of police service dogs, or are you working in association with any particular police agency? I imagine such work would be very hard, but very fulfilling, also.

Be warned, most of our efforts at photography fall into a "slightly" different classification than yours! :D
training to KNPV PH1 certificate is the hobby, most dogs are sold. The ones who stay with the handler are for breeding or trialing. But there aren´t big trials here, usually trials are with dogs who are going for their certificate

The ones who are suitable for breeding stay here, the others (few) are sold to departments.

Welcome,
Very nice pictures. I wish I was a little better at photography.

I was about to write a long reply but Selena beat me to it..
Training for the PH1 is a hobby, the satisfaction of getting there from scraps is the reason i do it..
Since KNPV is not realy a competition sport, but more a base for practice dog's, and many dogs get sold to police, army, air force or for private security purpose.

thanks for the nice words on my photography, i try to please

Welcome Patric! Looking forward to more of your photos.
Welcome, Patrick!
Welcome, Patrick...

If you think your girlfriend might get jealous or resentful, let me give you a tip... :D

I am a little in your same situation. Here's what I do: I tell my wife that it's not about the amount of time I spend with her...it's about what I do with her during that time. It works great!

Welcome to the site. And thanks for sharing your excellent photos with us.

Andres.
Maybe I should have called this site WorkingDogForum.NL  Welcome to the forum Patrick!
Do I bring in some new people, is t ook niet goed...

En ik dacht nog dat jij zo'n talenwonder was
Mike heeft Nederlandse ouders en leest en schrijft beter Nederlands als ik engels

but my english writing is improving a bit, reading and writing here every day. At least...they say they understand me

Translation:
Patrick is teasing me, says that he thought I was a language miracle ´cause of my partly dutch sentence. Answer: Mike has dutch parents and reads and writes better Dutch than I can speak/write english
LOL I like that there's alotta diversity on this forum.
