Hello to everyone and thanks for Julie and Mike for inviting me! I currently live in Western North Carolina with my husband, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. I sell Herbalife products and work for a CPA. My husband is head of security at K-mart, a camera operator at Dillards, owns his own gun business, and is an MP in the Army National Guard.

I am just getting started in training for Schutzhund (since that's really the only thing available here unless I want to drive 3 hours or more one-way to train) with my very first German Shepherd, Jak (pronounced like Jack). He is 10 months old and we're just starting bitework with him. He really seems like he's going to be a natural; I'm so excited! My other dog, Gypsy, is just a pet. She's a 4 year old pit bull chow mix.

I would like to see pic(s) of Gypsy too, if you have them. That sounds like a handsome cross to me.

Hey Kristen! Happy to have you. :D I saw your pictures in the other thread - awesome dogs! I'm in Raleigh, by the way, work at an accounting firm, and I have to drive a considerable distance to find anything other than SchH, too!

Glad to see you here!!!! I was following the progress of your puppy until you vanished one day. It sounds like he is doing very well. Good for you! My son is going to the NASCAR College in NC in the fall :( :( . (no... I’m not really that old  ) How far are you from Charlotte?

Looks like Alicia is 180 or so miles.

Here are a few pictures of Gypsy for those interested:

Looking for my cousin, who lives in the brown house, the second closest one to us, who is her absolute bestest friend in the whole wide world.

There are more, from last year and the year before, at:

http://www.angelfire.com/tx6/shrinercpa/lake.html (yes, that's me in the last two, and Adam on the jetski)

http://www.angelfire.com/tx6/shrinercpa/millsriver.html (she's definately a water dog!)

http://www.angelfire.com/tx6/shrinercpa/approach.html (this is what she looks like shaved down. She is modeling a back pack that I was selling, but decided to keep because I think it will fit Jak)

and http://www.angelfire.com/tx6/shrinercpa/pack.html (modeling her pack about 2 years ago - fully furred lol I think she looks kind of ugly in a couple of these pics.)

I am about 130 miles from Charlotte, according to Rand McNally. That's about 2.5 hours or so. I have to drive roughly 90 miles (1.5 hour) to train, and Stacia P. and I will be training at the same place once they are able to get settled in and start, that is. There is a guy who lives up in Boone that is a certified ASR and PSA decoy, but that's a further drive than the one I make now to the Schutzhund club - roughly 100 miles and 2.5 hours to get there according to Rand McNally.

I think she's a nice looking mutt, but I'm a bit biased. She can look kind of ugly sometimes, but on the whole, I think she's mighty purdy.
