Here's a question fer ya:

Does it work just as well on carpet from the 1970's as on Berber or the other more 'tight' carpets???
Roomba does not do shag well. I have a couple of shag mats in entry ways: this makes roomba unhappy. Also not good on longer-tassled rugs. Basically a bit testy on those types of things. Won't climb anything higher than about a half-inch, either. Awesome but loud on hard woods and tile. Way gentler on wood floors than a wheeled vac...it has soft rubber wheels and weighs just 8 or so pounds.

Should qualify this..."Loudness" is relative. Much quieter than normal vacuums.

That's a good price. I got mine at Sears at the Mall of America (a cool Sears, no kidding!) for just north of $300 with two IR walls, a fast charger, and a home base dock. Whatever you do, get the Scheduler flavor. The fast charger and base make it much more usable, too.
