And the good news is: Achilles DOES bite

465 Views 19 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Kristen Cabe
We finally made it to ASR training in Spartanburg, SC, last night and the good news is that Achilles hasn't forgotten what a helper looks like or what to do with one.

We had a great time and got home around 11:30 (thanks to Kristin -- my brand new Durgano's transmission went out for the 2nd time since we bought it May 29th adn she went 2 hours out of her way to drive us home last night after my roadside assistance told me to just take a cab -- I was 100 miles from home). Achilles is still asleep at 9:30 AM -- usually he's already bugging me to play.

Now we gotta work on that obedience...

And here's proof!

They're a little dark, but as you can see, he will definately bite! :D

I would have gotten more, but I was down on the field with Jak at the same time (2 decoys) and was just able to snap these when we ran back to the car and I got Jak in his crate. Achilles did very well for a "weak nerved showdog" wearing a sissy purple leash!

It's good to hear that the dog training went well. The CSRA-ASR club will be there next Saturday and I hope to meet you there. Matt Hammond will be coming and he is a certified decoy for the ASR and he and I are the founders of the CSRA-ASR club. Coming with us will be my son/decoy Jay Lyda with Gretchen GSD, Andrew and Jackie Shults with Abbie-boxer and Diesel-Mal (he is for sale), Amber with a Dobe, Kristen with Lokie-GSD, Tamara with Zuke-Dobe and maybe a few others.

Fix that transmission, you need to be there. :D :D

HEY, I'll have you all know that purple is the color of royalty 8) .

Forget fixing the transmission. That car has exactly 450 miles on it. It had this same problem at 34 miles (I'd owned it 24 hours). I want the dang thing exchanged! I should be getting a loaner car Monday so as long as no more tragedy strikes, I intend to be down there on the 22nd!
You know I'm just giving you a hard time about the purple leash and all, Stacia. :p

Think we should get him a pink one for next week?
Forget the collar, get a flash for the camera.

Hey! You try taking pics at 9:20 PM that don't come out dark! :x

And his collar is brown LOL. It's the leash that was purple (he was borrowing it from Andi b/c his leather is too long for agitation and I can't find his nylon anywhere...I bet the kids are using it for a jump rope).

Not ONLY was it late, as Stacia said, but I was at least 50 feet away taking the pictures, Jeff. This camera has a 10X zoom on it, but I've yet to hear of a camera with a flash that will reach that far away! PLUS, the field light wasn't on. With my old camera, even with the light on, all I could get from that far away at that time of evening was black, with maybe an eyeshine. :p Sorry your old eyes had trouble seeing them. :-({|=  I'll try to get closer next time so the flash will actually hit the dogs.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww don't. His pigment looks so much darker w/o the flash  .

I think the camera took awesome pics under the conditions. Mine would've been a blurry black blob...(say that ten times fast  )
WTF are you guys looking at? It IS a black and brown blob. I can barely make out the dog!

Click on the pics to enlarge!

It's your old eyes, Jeff. Aren't they 42 this month?
Also, the purple leash is clearer when you click and enlarge.
They seem to be everywhere. Now there is one on your avatar.

That's not nice Connie. . You're gonna give that doggie a complex. Although in Germany purple is a GUY color....

Jeff, we gotta get you a high resolution screen on that 'puter :D
