Re: Anyone else having this happen?

Also if you look at the domain creation date of 3-25-09, it seems to have poped up about that time as well.
From a google search I found that another forum was having issues, and that it didn't seem to be a local PC issue.
I tried several things to fix this, rolled back my PC to April 3rd, installed spyware software, clean up registry and cookies etc., nothing seemed to help.

So this is not something you can find in your apps?

Re: Anyone else having this happen?

No I didn't find it, for me it's every page or post on this forum. I haven't run into it anywhere else. First the page loads, the the ****ing advne.net loads. While advne.net/ads.html loads IE is basically frozen, and takes like 20 seconds for the page to become usable.

For me it seems to have started with the installation of IE 8, or maybe a coincidence, not sure.

Are others with this issue using IE 8?

Other have said to use firefox or safari, however maybe the security of IE 8 is pointing out this advne.net page loading, while other browsers are not.

We would notice speed loss, though.

No, I am having no issues, but I'm using Safari.

Gateway is a security program (Symantec). Are you seeing Gateway prevent hijacking, maybe?

Re: Anyone else having this happen?

These are interesting, speaking of IE8:

http://vwbusguy.wordpress.com/2009/03/23/ie8-spyware/
Called "IE8 = Spyware"

http://channel9.msdn.com/forums/Tech...e-too-quickly/

Caveat: I know nothing at all about either of these sites/writers.

Re: Anyone else having this happen?

I've been experiencing very similar, IE 7 and only on this web site. I downloaded the latest updates and cleaned up my pc a bit, things have improved but there seems to be something not quite right yet. I only experienced this problem after visiting and returning to the site here last weekend.

How about with other browsers?

Meaning slowness, hesitation, what?

Re: Anyone else having this happen?

What is amazing to me is the lack of any information on advne.net/ads. You would think that it would be all over the internet if Mirosoft was up to something.

I'll mess around with the new filtering features in IE 8.
