Dog Repellent

Hey all.

It seems that at least every month or so, despite my efforts to choose unpopular hours for walks, my dog and I get attacked by other people's unleashed dogs. Last night, we were attacked by a Lab mutt while the owners just stood there watching in shock.

What do you use as a repellent? I have heard of whips and walking sticks, but I don't want to really carry something that big around. Of course, I could just let my dog loose, but I don't want to risk getting sued for veterinary bills or get a complaint for having a "vicious" dog.

Next time, I might just tase'em, bro!
