First Agility trial with Payne

Well i figured it was time to test the waters with our first trial. So i entered 1 day of UKC agility. 4 runs in 1 day is plenty for a first timer.
All in all didn't go as well as i had hoped, but i didn't go home empty handed either.
First 2 runs she refused the weave poles. Acted like she's never seen that stuff before. Even though we had 2 nights of pratice on that very equipment.
Second run she got a Q, 1st place and i think a 189.
Last run of the day she refused to do the teeter, even though she's just gone over it an hour before.
But she did complete all the other obstacles.
Such an odd little dog.
But i did show me exactly what i need more work on, weave poles and training at other locations.
Maybe we'll be better prepared for the june show.
But all in all a really nice bunch of people to show with, had a lot of fun.

This sounds like a blast. I have been considering agility with my beasts.

Congrats, and I'm glad you both had fun

awesome!

Our terrier mix has been trialing about one day a month since December and he still does "random" stuff. Everyone tells us that consistency will come.

Do you have a video? It helps a lot to watch youself in competition, sometimes little details could throw the whole performance off and you would not know it till watching the video..
Good luck in the future!

No video at this time, and she still a very green dog. And last night she did all her weaves and did baulk at the teeter once but then no trouble since.
