Need to find a new home for my spayed female Malinois Mix, Saige. She is 4 1/2 years old. She has her BH and is obedience and protection trained. She was my first working dog that I got from a local rescue and just got lucky.
She does not have the necessary drives for being competitive in sport but she does love to work. Excellent tracker and obedience and protection are ok. Protection work is where she would lack in comptetion. She does not have the prey drive to be drawn in to the sleeve. She does alright on the suit but seems to understand that it's equipment and tries to get through it. No doubt in my mind she would bite someone trying to hurt me or my family.
She loves to swim, play tug, or play ball. High food drive for obedience training. This girl needs to be outside and played with more than I can give her at his point in my life.
She is neutral with small children. I have 2 kids under 2 years old and she has never been a concern. She is tolerant of them, but will get up and go somewhere else if she has enough.
She is protective of her home and her family. She is very alert and attentive to what is going on around her. She makes the rounds through the house, looking out the windows every 15 minutes or so, and then goes back to lay down.
She is crate trained and house broken. She will do fine being out with another dog if there will be no dominance issues from the other dog(s). She will be fine if kenneled separately if you have dogs that are dominant. She has lived with our Silky Terrier her whole life and never had an issue. They enjoy playing together.
I would prefer not to ship her. I would like her to go to someone who has some knowledge of what owning working dogs is like. She is by no means a crazy drive monster. She is a lover and will do anyting for some attention.
She will be up to date on all vaccinations prior to going to her new home. I will include her wire kennel, vehicle kennel, dishes, balls, tugs, leads, and collars too.
I really will miss her. She has been a great dog to learn with and develop my passion for working dogs. She just deserves more than I can give her right now. Please feel free ton contact me at (517)230-1950.
